Reach for Your Potential
SITUATION: This human services organization with 200+ employees found themselves in a challenging situation when they learned that the staff person who had been filling their IT role was moving out of state. Since they were in the process of adding more office staff, as well as two remote offices, their IT problem had suddenly become acute.
SOLUTION: A meeting with management led to the development of an IT plan that extended out over one year. We quickly began working with them on a variety of projects to:
- upgrade their server
- install a new firewall
- rewire portions of the network
- assist with the installation of a telephone based timekeeping system
- install a thin client system allowing remote access for 30 users
- install an upgraded backup system with redundant offsite storage
- upgrad their broadband connection to a high speed wireless connection
- install a new email server and email/calendaring system
RESULTS: They have added the planned number of staff and the two new remote offices were opened. Keystone provided high speed wireless connections to the new offices which were in an area not serviced by local ISPs. Keystone IT has become their IT Department and is providing all of their IT support, which relieves the staff from this burden.
As we enter year two, management has recently leased adjoining office space. The thin client network will be easily expanded to accommodate the new offices. Following this move, a trixbox EE system will be installed because of the limitations of their existing telephone system.
